Feeding the Homeless in Reno

This week someone hit my truck putting it in the shop right before the weather got very cold here in Reno and it's brought me a lot of clarity.

I've had a lot of people send kind emails and I'm making the list of our donors so we can properly thank you on our site and via email. We receive about $200 a month including whats received for Personal Reiki Rocks. I'm going to list every single donor and properly thank you so I'm not going to mention anyone here and take a chance on missing someone.

The pictures above are of Pastor Ron loading up his electric cart in freezing weather last night to make runs of tarps and food out to the homeless. It was so cold so any coffee or soup would be cold by the time it made it down there.

I didn't feel too good standing in the pouring down rain sending off my disabled friend in his electric wheel chair to feed the homeless but we knew the were hungry children and others that were out there with nothing.

We are able to do what we do because of all the generous food and clothing donations.
I want to do more and I want to do more ASAP.

We seem to get it done when it comes to the food donations but its been an adventure.. We've come down to our last sandwich and every time it seems to work out. Roberta Tams, Kathleen Eagan and Maryann Schrupp have supplied us a tremendous amount of food, love and support and it has been our honor to carry all that love out into the streets and share with others.

In fact, we wouldn't have even had tarps for anyone last night had Roberta and Randy not stopped by with all of them and their regular, generous, donation of food!

There are three things that will allow us to immediately start feeding more people right away. I'm enlisting your help in making it happen even if just sharing this note on your wall.

THREE THINGS THAT FEED 200 MORE PEOPLE A WEEK RIGHT NOW!

We need a catering truck. A catering truck will allow us to have a much bigger route every day. We can go more places and feed more people the very day we get it.

1) Catering Truck

Having a regular daily route that covers a much bigger area will touch so many people. We plan to bolt a web cam inside and out so you can see what's happening on the Peace Truck (need a name) 24/7. Below are two available right now on craiglist here in Reno to give you an example of what we're looking for.

As I mentioned we only bring in about $200 in cash donations so we don't have the money so I'm asking you to join me in setting the intention that at least one catering truck is donated. (Yes, it's tax deductible).

2) Insurance

When we acquire an insurance policy naming the Northern Nevada Food bank as being covered they will begin giving us 20 to 40 cases of food A WEEK!! The policy is $1,200.

3) YOU

I'm asking 200 people to become "Peace PAL's" and agree to make or purchase at least 1 sandwich a week and give them to someone that's hungry, 200 more hungry people will be fed this week if this happens. Will you be one of the 200 that make this happen? I know if enough people share this group 200 more people will eat this week that otherwise will not.

So thank you, it's the voice you have given me here on Facebook that is allowing much of this to happen. I will continue to work for the happiness of all sentient beings and already appreciating the 200 people that will begin getting a warm meal when any of these three things above are done.
